Mentha aquatica

  • A beautiful variety of mint that loves to grow in wet boggy ground.
  • Has an amazing scent and attractive pinky mauve flowers.
  • Can be used as you would other members of the mint family.

Very pungent scented bog plant with a pretty flower.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

  • Perennial.
  • Likes a full sun position, will tolerate light shade.
  • Reaches 3 feet (90 cm) tall.
  • Very small, attractive pinky mauve flowers.
  • Flowers midsummer to earlyautumn.
  • Can be grown in shallow water or likes boggy ground.
  • Spreads vigorously.
  • Leaves are thought to repell flies.
  • Can be used to make tea.
  • Can be eaten as you would other varieties of mint.
  • Medicinal Uses
  • Rich in Vitamin A and E.
  • Can be crushed and used for headaches.
  • Juice can be used for acne and eczema.
  • Can relieve nausea from motion sickness.
  • Can be used on insect stings.
