A Winter Heath, Alpine Heath or Heather that is low growing with an amazing narrow, yellow/golden foliage, deepening to orange-red/deeper gold in very cold winters, sometimes speckled with red. Racemes of tubular, purplish pink flowers, often sparse.

Makes a great ground cover.

Originated from the European Alps.

  • Hardy.
  • Evergreen.
  • Reaches 8 - 12" (20 - 30 cm) tall.
  • Spread 13" (35 cm) wide.
  • Flowers February - April.
  • Likes a sunny position.
  • Will grow in soil from lime to acidic, but not tightly compacted soil.
