Every year we add more heritage varieties to our range - come along and find out what they (and a few others) taste like and see how they grow. For 2014 we are hoping to have close to 90 varieties on taste including some new to the UK blight resistant outdoor varieites that we are trialing.
At the same time come and see what we're growing on the nursery, be it fruit, vegetables, herbs or flowers for cutting, and have a natter about your successes and failures with fellow gardeners - or one of us!
Other activities going on...
Chillies - Try the first few fruits of the year.
Advice - As always, the team will be on hand to answer all your gardening questions.
Children's Activities - bug hunting, colouring and other activities to keep your children busy.
It gets bigger every year! After the success of our 2013 Chilli and Craft Day we've decided to make it a weekender!
Along with all the varieties we grow and sell as seed here at the nursery we'll also be growing a multitude of other varieties - from the sublimely cool to the ridiculously hot - taste the ones you dare! (with opportunities to purchase fruits of the ones you like - or seeds for sowing next year).
If you are new to Chilli growing we will, as always, be on hand to advise on growing techniques as well as methods of preserving your crop.
Chillies & Peppers - 70 varieties to view and taste.
Food Stalls - try a traditional Paella cooked by Xavier from Café Mauresque - or how about some Chilli Candyfloss? (more food stalls to be added)
Craft Fair - for 2013 we had 20 lovely local craft stalls - from picture frames, to jewellery, to fudge, to knitted toys. With more room set aside for 2014 we'll have even more stalls! Stall holders currently exhibiting are:
Flicks Fanciers with yummy chilli sausages, sausage rolls and other pastries.
Stevie v Jewellery with homemade keepsakes, wall and Christmas decorations and Jewellery.
