Our very careful evaluation reveals the problem and needs of the home gardener who is used to sowing one variety - often 50% or more that are grown are wasted as they all come at once - fine for the commercial grower who wants to clear his crop! Our blend of 15 distinct varieties includes old fashioned buttercrunch types, so called Iceberg or the crisp traditional Webbs Wonderful, Cos, Loose Leafed, Red Lettuce and Batavian types. Sown in the open ground, or trays and transplanted, you will have from one sowing cropping spread over 8-9 weeks. Also ideal for salad leaf production as you can keep picking the young leaves. You will like this selection.

How To Grow Our Lettuce Blend'

Sow in trays January to March for transplanting when large enough to handle. Set out 12" x 12" apart.
Sow thinly in rows 12" apart. Sow in drills ½" deep. Thin out to one plant per 12" when large enough to handle.
Eat the thinnings!
Also sow October for transplanting and growing under protection for harvesting in early Spring.
