Pollinator Friendly

After a stunning display of delicate pinky-white flowers in the Spring a heavy crop of soft shelled nuts with a gorgeously sweet flavour are produced - ready for harvesting late August.

Very good resistance to peach leaf curl making it all but immune.

Will start fruiting approximately two - three years after planting.

  • Self Fertile.
  • Grown on St Julien A rootstock for an ultimate height of 12 - 15 feet (3.65 - 4.6 metres) but can easily be kept at a height of 6 - 8 feet (1.8 - 2.4 metres).
  • Top Tips
  • Almonds prefer a full sun position but will tolerate shade.
  • Being closely related to Peaches and Nectarines (you can actually eat the outer flesh in exactly the same way), Almonds flower on second year wood - so avoid over zealous pruning.
  • Pruning is best undertaken after the tree has flowered and set fruit.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

Available from approximately mid May 2018
