Our Feedback
Received the email yesterday saying the plants had been despatched, arrived late morning today. All good, strong, healthy plants that were very well packaged and I'm sure they will romp away once planted. Customer service was excellent as well and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you to my fellow gardeners.

Description

Sometimes known as the Chinese Naga this chilli certainly has some fire to it! In our opinion the fruits we have grown here at the nursery are hotter than the Carolina Reaper. To get your fruits to have maximum heat they should be grown under protection. The pods ripen to orange/red and the flesh has a 'bumpy' texture; the fruits look similar in appearance to a Naga.

These can be found growing in the wild in China and are thought to have orginated somewhere either in China (the western edge of Tengchong where it meets Burma) or Nagaland, India but no one is exactly sure.

The traditional way in which these chillies are used when cooking is to hold them with a pair of chopsticks and stir them around in the cooking pot; in Japan this method is called Shabu Shabu, hence the name.

To ensure good germination a constant compost temperature of 82° - 86° f (28° - 30° C) is recommended. Germination can be slow and take three weeks or more.

  • Origin: China or Nagaland in India.
  • Heat: Volcanic - approximately 644,034+ SHUs (we think it's a lot hotter than this).
