Carrot Seed - All Year Round Blend

You can't sow and grow carrots all the year round - or not from one variety at least! And that is why we have carefully blended early's, second early's, maincrops, late's and over-wintering varieties to produce this true all year round blend; we used to call this our 365 Day Carrot Mixture.

These can be sown pretty much anytime of the year and will produce a crop. For those wanting to buy just 'one' packet of carrot seed but produce carrots throughout the year these are perfect.

How To Sow & Grow Carrots Anytime of the Year

Sow February - April (under protection) or April to August outside in the open.
Or sow October - early December (under protection) for young Easter carrots.
Sow thinly in rows 12" apart. Sow in ½" deep drills.
Thin out to 2"-3" apart when large enough to handle - make sure you eat the thinnings!

Top Tips
A useful tip to deter carrot fly is when you thin or hoe your carrots water the rows with our BioFriend Plant-Defence - this will keep the fly away! And always remember to take the thinnings away - thinnings left on the ground attract carrot fly. As an alternative, always keep plants covered with insect netting.
Carrots left in the open ground or stored in clamp beds should be strawed over to protect from frost.
