Our Feedback
Just received my first order from you and despite them being delayed by the Easter holiday, the plants arrived in perfect condition. They were carefully packed and still damp enough. Very pleased, I will be ordering again. Thank you.

A Soggy Start To Autumn...

So after the driest September on record, the beginning of October sure made up for it! The reality is we needed the rain – it simply was too dry! The ground was like iron and anything in it was suffering from drought, and far from being an 'Indian Summer' it was bringing on Autumn.

From our point of view the constant rains forced us to spend some days inside and get on with some much needed office work – so we have been busy adding new products to our range and updating and adding pictures to our descriptions. As daft as it may sound, its very easy for us to get carried away growing stuff and forget to market it!

Our Chilli Fest went spectacularly well this year! The sun shone, we saw record numbers of visitors over the two days - and much fun was had by all! For those who didn't make it along a little video clip can be found at Challock Chilli Fest.

We're already busy planning next year's! So now its time to prepapre for a busy Autumn - tidying the greenhouse, blocking up plants outside and moving some stuff in. There really is not enough hours in the day!

Despite being so busy, the end of October sees one of our most important and enjoyable jobs of the year - judging our annual School Pumpkin Competition! And so we will squeeze in a week or so of visiting Schools, measuring pumpkins and awarding spooky Halloween prizes. Best of all we will hopefully hear of all the pleasure and fun the children have had growing their Pumpkins and learning the joys of 'growing their own' without even realising they were learning - because, according to a young chap we spoke to a year or so ago, "growing plants is easy, all they need is sun - sun and love"!

So that's our round up for October - short and sweet!

But be sure to follow all our antics at the nursery on Twitter @Victoriana_NG - for Pumpkin Competition Results, daily updates and general banter tweeted with a grin.
