Our Feedback
I just wanted to thank you for the fantastic service you gave me when I purchased a Ruby Anniversay rose bush from you. I ordered by telephone and spoke to a lady who was very helpful and polite. I received the rose bush in time for my Mum & Dad's anniversary, beautifully looked after and very carefully packaged. My parents loved it. Thank you again for a wonderful service. I will not hesitiate to recommend you to friends and family.

An Early Autumn

The cold snap we had at the end of October brought leaf fall early this year and so we have been able to start our bare root hedging, bush fruit and tree fruit lifting a little bit ahead of schedule! So far we've also been lucky with the weather - so we are not working in a quagmire of mud.

Autumn and early Winter is the perfect time for planting bare root fruit as the still warm soil (especially this year as it is so mild) encourages the roots of trees, bushes and canes to start to grow - making establishment all the more quicker come the Spring. And come next Summer that early planting will pay off even further as that greater rooting out will mean less need for watering (but don't forget it completely).

So what else should we be doing in the garden at this time of year?

With Christmas fast approaching so to does the traditional time for planning for the growing year ahead (and don't forget seeds and plants make great presents). Are you going to grow everything from seed? Or are you going to grow some crops from young plants? Now's the time to be looking at our range of Vegetable Seeds and Vegetable Plants and putting together your order - or writing to Father Christmas with your wish list!
