Our Feedback
I’d just like to say how delighted I was with the 10 Lobelia Queen Victoria plants I bought.
My experiences of buying plants through mail-order companies has been regrettable! After each experience I vowed never to do it again... - but where needs must I took another chance and I'm so glad I did!
Because I was only paying £12.00 (plus delivery) for 10 plants, I have to say that I wasn’t exactly expecting a great deal in the way of quality... but how wrong was I! I could not believe how healthy and well established the plants were!
Many thanks,
Pete

Description
One of the hardiest fuchsias around. Sometimes called the Hummingbird fuchsia as hummingbirds like its nectar!
These can grow up to 6-10 feet (1.8-2.4 metres) tall and are very vigorous in habit, making them perfect for hedging. They also tend to be left alone by rabbits
This is our own clone or stock of magellanica. Deep green foliage is smothered in crimson purple small to medium flowers which last until the first frosts.
Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
- Plant 18" (45 cm) apart.
- Ultimate height 6-10 feet (1.8 - 2.4 metres). Can be trimmed to any height above 2 feet (60 cm). Average annual growth rate 12-18" (30 - 45 cm).
- Ultimate width 3-4 feet (90-120 cm). Can be trimmed.
- Grows well in most soil types (including chalky and clay) except those prone to lying wet.
- Suitable for most aspects from full sun to partial shade. Does not perform well in dense shade.
- Suitable for coastal areas.
- Not suitable for particularly cold exposed areas but excellent in windy positions.
- Small purple and red flowers in summer and autumn.
- Plant spring/summer.
- We are not aware that this plant is poisonous.
- Don't use any stimulants, fertiliser or bonemeal at planting time as such products will damage new root growth and slow your plants' development!
- Water thoroughly if the ground is dry.
- It is essential to keep your developing hedge free of weed competition.
- In extended dry periods ensure your plants are watered thoroughly at least once a week; this is even more critical on lighter soils.
