Business As Usual – Well Nearly!
It has been more than a while since we updated our Home Page and video clip, the main reason being we’d been waiting for it to stop raining long enough to get out with the camera! But thankfully we have now had just under a week of dry weather and can finally get on with all the outside jobs that have been piling up.
Un-thankfully, Covid-19 has come along; ‘interesting times’ for the UK, ‘interesting times' for the World.
For our part it is just about ‘business as usual’. We are lucky that as a team we work either outside or in airy greenhouses, and by the very nature of our job rarely work in close proximity of each other. We’re obviously all taking the necessary precautions - from regular hand washing to spreading out just a bit more at coffee break.
Due to the current situation we have decided to close the nursery to calling customers; we will review this late July. Currently none of our team are ‘poorly’, and we want to keep it that way so that we can continue to provide our mail order service. Our team are working hard to minimise their contact with others outside the work environment and so are basically 'at home' or 'at work' - we therefore think it unfair to them to continue to remain open and risk an unsuspecting visitor infecting us.
So until such time as our Couriers and Royal Mail will not collect from us we will continue to send out seeds and plants to all our gardening friends.
With many being forced to stay at home, and the threat of food shortages, there has never been a better time to Grow Your Own. And from a mental health point of view for those self isolating getting out into the garden is a fabulous (and safe) way to stop ‘cabin fever’ setting in.
