Description

This amazing purple black variety of aquilegia has a fully double flower on good upright stems making it perfect as a cut flower to give that stunning contrast in your arrangements.

Originated from Europe and naturalised in North America. Also known as Double columbine or Grandma's Bonnets

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

  • Hardy, perennial.
  • Flowers May to July.
  • Grow to approximately 32" (80 cm) tall.
  • Thrive in full sun or partial shade.
  • Prefer a well drained position
  • Plant 12" (30 cm) apart.
