Description
A real treat to have in the garden with amazing scent.
Fairly fast to spread, its not long after planting that you will have a carpet of long leaved dark green foliage. Come late May / early June the sweetly scented white bell flowers will appear - nestling between and just rising above the foliage.
Thriving in semi-shade, they will also perform well in brighter conditions provided the soil remains moist. A lovely woodland groundcover plant that is similarly well suited for under-planting in the ornamental border.
But don't let the beauty and fragrance end there! A few cut flowers will fill any room with scent - and for Spring Weddings they are an essential of the bridal bouquet (they were even in Kate Middleton's bouquet).
- Flower May - June.
- Grow to approximately 16" (40 cm) tall.
- Thrive in partial shade and a deep rich soil.
- Suitable for ground cover.
- Plant about 9" (23 cm) apart.
- A few 'pips' can be lifted and potted up in the Autumn and gently forced for Christmas flowering.
