Description
There really are few herbaceous perennials that can beat these for the absolutely stunning show that they put on every year!
The tight and compact growing plants produce huge flowers up to 5-6" (13-15 cm) in diameter; papery in appearance they are bright orangey-red in colour with a central black centre. In early morning or late evening light they are truly beautiful.
Plant these en masse for a stunning display.
Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
- Flowers May-early July.
- Grows to around 18"-2 ft (45-60 cm) tall.
- Plant 14" apart.
- Thrive in full sun.
- Happy in most soil types.
- Perennial in habit - and tough as old boots!
