Description

Utterly hardy, these produce pretty yellow flowers with an orange-yellow centre - mostly single but occasionally double. This is the ultimate cottage garden plant!

Sometimes known as Common Primrose, English Primrose, Blue Primrose or Culver Keys.

Flowering can start soon after Christmas and continues right through to May. It's not unusual to see the pretty flowers appear from melting snows - these really are tough!

This variety of primrose was voted the county flower of Devon in 2002 (in a poll carried out by the charity Plantlife).

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
