Our Feedback
Fantastic quality of trees, vines and plants. Very professional service. If only all sellers opperated at this level. Had one vine that got caught up in a late delivery but the staff were really helpful and replaced it immediately. I will recommend to friends and family.

Description

An heirloom variety of white aubergine that is ideal for growing in the UK climate (with shorter Summers than our Southern European friends) as it is early to mature.

These lovely creamy white aubergines have a mild flavour and firm texture reaching approximately 7" (18 cm) long in a teardrop shape with a thin skin. Despite the fact that this variety will produce lots of fruits quite quickly it is recommended to grow them in a greenhouse or poly tunnel as they don't like the cold (although this variety is more tolerant than some)!

Aubergines orginated from China and are a member of the Nightshade family and in history were thought to dangerous to eat, causing madness or even death - thankfully this is not the case!

  • Pot into small pots April-May.
  • For outdoor growing transplant outside after the risk of frost has passed into a sunny sheltered spot; plant out 36" (90 cm) apart in rows 36" (90 cm) apart and provide a sturdy support.
  • For greenhouse or polytunnel growing plant out into either larger pots or growbags.
  • Provide a sturdy support.
  • Well suited to growing in polytunnels, though ensure good ventilation (without cold draughts); flowers rotting before fruit is a sure sign of bad ventilation.
  • Harvest August-October.
