Our Feedback
Thank you very much for a rapid delivery!I have had a bad experience with mail ordered plants before, which were not good quality to start with and died within a week of their arrival but this time I was really impressed with the quality of the plants ordered; as the weather was not suitable to plant them, they have been sitting in my garage for three weeks now and they are producing lots of shoots and leaves and look really strong. They are worth every penny! I will definately recommend your nursery as I was so impressed with your service. It's a shame I did'nt find your website before.

Pickling and preserving vegetables is a fantastic way to make those fresh vegetables last throughout the year. Pickling itself is a relatively straightforward process, which we've made even easier by providing you with a selection of vegetables that are wholly suited to pickling!
Whether you're pickling beetroot, pickling onions, pickling chillies or shallots, we've taken the time to put together a listing that offers the best tasting produce that's ripe for preserving! More...
Pickling has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in the past decade or so - maybe because it's an easy way to make your vegetables last longer; the results can be enjoyed for weeks and months after the fact! Whilst pickling itself is a relatively easy and straightforward process, perhaps the most basic and important starting point is to ensure that you've picked the best possible vegetable variety. Whether you're pickling beetroot, pickling onions, pickling chillies or shallots, ultimately if you've invested in growing the best veg varieties, the chances are that at the end of the process you'll have some pretty spectacular home-made produce.
That's where we come in. At Victoriana, we're advocates of home-grown produce through and through. That's why we've put the time and effort into producing a list of vegetables best suited for pickling - all vegetable plants listed within this category have been tried and tested by Victoriana's own Shirley family.
Whilst vegetable seeds for pickling are generally available throughout the year, we supply our vegetable plants in season, typically as compost block-grown plants. All plants for pickling are delivered direct from our UK nursery, and delivered quickly throughout the UK mainland.
