Pollinator Friendly

Each fruit is the size of a small apple, hence this commonly being known as the 'Apple Cucumber' - but as its fruit is a pale yellow in colour when ready to eat it's actually called 'Crystal Lemon'.

Reputed to be more digestible than many other cucumbers, this has a mild sweet flavour and is very juicy - just make sure the cucumbers don't get too large or take on a more golden colour as the skins will become bitter. This is also an excellent variety for pickling also.

The habit of the plant can be quite sprawling but they can be tied into a trellis or something similar.

An interesting novelty variety and a fun favourite with children.

As this is what is known as a 'Ridge' type it is suitable for outdoor growing, frame growing or growing in a polytunnel or greenhouse. There is no need to remove male flowers on this variety.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
