Description

This is a grape with a nationality crisis! The French call it their own, yet it has a German name, and many believe it actually originated in Italy and was known as Tramino Wherever it comes from, this is a lovely pinky-red grape grape with a mildly spicy bouquet. Popular in the UK for wine-making, it is also a lovely eating grape.

  • Originally from France, Germany or Italy.
  • Late-season fruit ripening.
  • Winter wood ripening is good, so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur-pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.
