Vitis vinifera 'Huxelrebe'

  • Eating / Wine Grape.
  • Large pale yellow fruits are packed full of sugar and have a delicate muscat flavour.
  • Early to ripen.
  • Suitable for outdoor and protected growing.

Description

Whilst not a true muscat grape, the large fruits of this grape take on a lovely sweetness and gorgeous muscat flavour. This is an excellent grape for eating as well as juicing. In the wine industry it is used for primarily for making high-end sweet aperitif and dessert wines.

  • Originally from Germany.
  • Parentage: Gutedel x Courtiller Musqué.
  • Early-season fruit ripening.
  • Winter wood ripening is good so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.
