Description

Developed in the 1920s in France, this variety is sometimes known as Seyve-Villard. UK growers have given it the nickname 'Save All' because of its excellent reliability and good resistance to disease. It crops heavily, even producing good crops of small white fruits in cooler years.

It is a good all-rounder: used extensively for making wine it is also excellent as an eating grape, with a pleasant sharp finish.

  • Originally from France.
  • Parentage - Seibel 5656 x Seibel 4986.
  • Mid-season fruit ripening.
  • Winter wood ripening is good - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.
