Description

Yes, miniature roses from seed.

Proven since the Shirley family's first sales in 1958, but much improved. A group of these will be found to be nicely scented too.

Semi double and single flowers in shades of pink, crimson, apricot and some white. Dainty red hips are produced in Autumn.

A very pretty subject; ideal for Bonsai, a miniature rose garden, a low rose hedge or even for the rockery.

The flowers are edible although it is recommended that you remove the white heel at the base of the petals first. It is said the stronger the scent the stronger the flavour!

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

  • Can flower from June to September.
  • Perennial in habit.
  • Sow into seed trays and germinate at a temperature of 60f (15C).
  • Protect germinating seeds from birds and mice.
  • Prick off into small pots and plant out when large enough to handle.
  • Can reach 2 feet (75 cm) tall.
  • Trim back in early spring to keep plants tight and compact and encourage profuse flowering.
  • Dead head to prolong flowering.
