Description

The name says it all!

Bred in the early 1980s, Amy's Sugar Gem produces masses and masses of golf ball-sized fruits that are bright red in colour with tiny golden flecks in the skin. Caught in the 'right light' they look as if they have been sprinkled with sugar!

With avery little core, the flesh is meaty and exceptionally juicy - and so very sweet. A great tomato to munch on its own, use in salads or turn into sweet tomato sauce.

This is an indeterminate variety and best grown as a cordon (vine).
For best yields and size of fruit, stop at 6th truss if growing under protection (4th outside).
Whilst the best crops will be grown under protection, this variety can also be grown outside.
