Hello there, I have just placed another order. I just wanted to let you know how pleased I was with my first order, the plants were a lovely size and shape, far better quality than other plants I have bought from other suppliers, and I have recomended you to quite a few friends and fellow allotment owners, Many Thanks Katy

Our asparagus plants are not supplied as asparagus crowns, but plant these compost block-grown specimens this season, and within 12 months you could be looking forward to some seriously succulent spears!
We supply some truly magnificent heritage/heirloom and modern varieties that produce strong, heavy and flavoursome crops that will beat any shop-bought produce hands down. More...
British-grown asparagus is one of the delicacies that's really best enjoyed in season for ultimate flavour.
Whilst we do not supply bare root asparagus crowns, we do supply asparagus grown as plants in compost blocks. The plus point of growing asparagus plants from our compost blocks is that you don't need to create a ridge for the plants – this is only necessary for crowns and can take a fair amount of extra work. Our asparagus plants should be planted in rows around 9"/22 cm apart, with around 18"/45 cm between each row. Plant the compost blocks in firmly so that the asparagus shoots are showing above ground. Water well when the weather is on the dry side and then ... patience!
Asparagus plants need one or two growing seasons for the crowns to establish, so it's best not to harvest during this time. By the third year you should be able to enjoy heavier crops, especially with 'all male' varieties, and each asparagus crown could give you in excess of 20 years of service!
We provide both modern and heirloom varieties of asparagus plants for sale, including the popular purple for a bit of extra colour on your plate. You might also be interested to note that we sell a specialist asparagus knife that will help you to swiftly harvest your crops without damaging the fragile crowns. We also supply our plants and knife as an Asparagus Lovers Kit, a perfect gift for any grow-your-own enthusiast.
