Description

Originating from France where it is used for producing white Bordeaux as well as often being blended with Sauvignon Blanc, this variety completely changes character in warmer climates, where it becomes more honeyed with tropical fruit flavours.

The fairly small, bright green grapes are thin-skinned and juicy.

Here in the UK it is a little-grown grape - but as its characteristics are similar to Sauvignon Blanc and it pairs well we believe it to be a variety well worth growing.

  • Originally from France.
  • Late-season fruit ripening.
  • Winter wood ripening is good - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.
