Mentha x piperita f. citrata 'Lemon'

  • Lemon scent and flavour.
  • Hardy perennial.
  • Oval green leaves are tinged purple.
  • Small pale purple flowers.
  • Reaches 14" (35 cm) tall.

Supplied as a pot grown plant grown in a 7cm pot.

Description

A pretty small leaved mint with a distinct lemon scent and flavour.

Is said to detract harmful insects such as aphids, fleas and ants.

Recognised to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

  • Hardy perennial.
  • Reaches approximately 16" (40 cm) tall.
  • Likes a sunny or part shade position.
  • Prefers a moist location.
  • Oval green leaves with a hint of purple
  • Small purple flowers.
  • We recommend growing this in a pot as it can be invasive.

Culinary Uses

  • Great with fish and chicken.
  • Can be dried or used fresh.
  • Good for making tea or iced tea.
  • Lovely in salads and fruit salads.
  • Can be added to lemonade to add zing!
  • Can be dried.
  • Can be used to make Pesto or mint sauce.

Other Uses
