Description

With Pinot Noir as one of its parents, this relatively new variety is excellent for wine-making, but with its greater sweetness is also a flavoursome eating grape.

The almost-black grapes may be relatively small in size but they are packed full of juice and flavour. Combine this with the fact that it really will produce a reliable crop outside and you have a valuable and worthwhile variety that really does deserve more recognition and recommendation.

  • Late-season fruit ripening.
  • Winter wood ripening is good - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.
