There may be newer varieties but, in our opinion, for taste and texture this one is truly hard to beat! Even without excluding light from the stems it will produce creamy white stems with a mild and sweet flavour.

With a compact and tidy habit, the plants will mature to around 26" (65 cm) high.

  • Sow under protection March-April in modules or small pots. Barely cover the seed.
  • Grow on under protection allowing the plants to root out fully and produce a reasonable amount of leaf.
  • Plant out 12-18" (30-45 cm) apart in rows 12-18" (30-45 cm) apart in late May/early June and after all threat of frost.
  • Do not be in too much of a rush to plant out as premature planting when cold will cause bolting.
  • Top Tips
  • Celery prefers a deep and rich soil.
  • Watering shortly before harvest will ensure your Celery stores for longer.
