The true Marsh Marigold, also known as Mayflower, May Blobs, Mollyblobs, Pollyblobs, Horse Blob, Water Blobs, Water Bubbles, Gollins, Balfae and Publican.
This is a good plant for the pond in helping to remove ammonia and nitrate salts that occur in ponds populated by fish.
Every pond should have a few of these to be planted as marginal plants, they look like giant buttercups! The flowers can grow to the size of a dinner plate in circumference with splendid rich yellow flowers from late April onwards which the bees just love! These really are spectacular.
Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
