Description

We've named this variety ourself, the history is quite a story! We were given the seed by a Head Teacher friend of ours (Harry), who had in turn been given plants by the school caretaker, who had originally brought the seed over from Italy when he left during World War Two as a refugee, and had been growing it and saving the seed ever since.

We simply couldn't let you miss out on this amazing plum tomato and so save the seed here at the nursery every year so that it can continue to live on.

These fruits are large in size with little seed, they're not pretty to look at, having an oblong / almost square shape but the flavour is gorgeous and shouldn't be missed. Perfect for grilling, 'sun drying' or making into purée, passata or sauces.

  • This is an indeterminate variety and best grown as a cordon (vine).
  • For best yields stop at 5th truss if growing under protection (3rd outside).
  • Whilst the best crops will be grown under protection, this variety can also be grown outside.
