Description
A lovely white variety with purple banding (although the cloves are beige in colour) of garlic, originating from California, which has a good flavour.
Garlic is so good for you. It helps to keep colds at bay, assists with thinning the blood and keeps Serena Shirley well (very long story!). Great for cooking with or just rub a clove over a piece of bread toasted on the BBQ and lightly covered in olive oil and salt - what better summer snack!
- Softneck variety.
- Plant autumn to early spring.
- Plant cloves 6" (15 cms) apart in rows 12" (30 cms) apart.
- Likes a sunny position.
- Prefers a fertile, free draining soil.
- Harvest in summer (when it goes 'weak at the knees')
