Description

Easy to use. This product is safe, clean, environmentally friendly and results can be seen in 48 hours or less from its time of application!

You simply dissolve the powder in an ordinary watering can with tap water and apply over the foliage of all your garden and greenhouse plants. It is absorbed through the foliage by what is termed as systemic action and is in the plant's sap stream within 60 seconds of application. Foliar feeding is not new. It is cheap, clean and effective and, should you wish, it can be applied directly as any normal liquid fertiliser to the soil. Just treat your garden lawn and see how quickly it will green up after Winter frosts or drought periods.

What Is Instant Life?
It is a naturally occurring mineral salt that contains vital trace elements, having a high level of nitrogen for growth and potash for substance, colour and viability, together with sodium that has a beneficial effect on the soil and unlike many other forms of plant foods does not have the effect of acidifying the soil. With a formula of 13%N and 46%K2O as an instantly dissolvable crystalline substance that includes sodium and trace elements including boron, magnesium and iodine. Its use can prevent deficiency diseases in most crops.

If you are seeking 'Prize Winning' results our guidance advice that accompanies all orders will show you the way to achieve the very best results - good colour, size, robust growth, keeping quality or substance - in other words exhibition results!

Once you start using 'Instant Life' for plant feeding we believe you will be convinced - like many of our customers that have been purchasing this product for over 30 years!

Instructions For Use:

Instant Life can be used at two strengths, these are :

NO.1 STRENGTH - 1 level old teaspoon to 9 litres (2 gallons) of clean tap water.  This strength should be used for the following:

Annual Flowers
Commonly referred to as Summer bedding plants will respond remarkably well. Growth will be rapid ensuring that your borders will be quickly filled provided warm sunny weather follows planting. It is quite feasible to expect the plants to treble their size within three weeks. Plants will have brighter colours too and flowering will be extended well into Autumn.

Cacti
During the Summer growth season they should be fed like any other plant in this grouping. Usually, feeding and watering should terminate in November and not recommence until mid April. There are exceptions to this ruling. Situations with extremely good light intensity, good temperature and an atmosphere that is very dry - you can get away with continuity growing. We have ourselves proved it quite easy to grow a fairly large plant in only nine months from a small seedling.

Foliage Plants
Including ferns, green plants falling into the general category of Houseplants respond particularly well, especially when growing these choice decorative items, away from their natural environment, in the home.

Pot Plants
Here we have an almost unlimited variety of plants that will undoubtedly benefit from systemic feeding. Hybridists and plant breeders, the world over, are constantly working to evolve new hybrids and strains of plants for pot cultivation. All pot plants benefit from this proven and reliable way of feeding, although care should be exercised in periods of bright sunshine or to exceed the recommended rate of application. Do not use over the foliage of Saintpaulias.

NO.2 STRENGTH - 1 level old teaspoon to 4.5 litres (1 gallon) of clean tap water. This should be used for the following:

Exhibition Vegetables, The Kitchen Garden, Culinary Fruit
Every single item in the kitchen garden requires regular feeding for the crop to produce fruit or vegetables of the highest vitamin value. In fact we suggest you have an honest control patch, that is not treated, in order that you can compare the exceptional cropping quality and superb flavour that your vegetables can develop in the adjacent plot treated with ‘Instant Life’. By culinary fruits we include such things as strawberries, currants, gooseberries, grapes, peaches, nectarines and all other desert fruits and to include tomatoes, cucumbers and the like. Regular feeding will be rewarded by bumper prize winning crops and resistance to disease. Instant life is a must for the showman or vegetable exhibitor.

Roses
To include all members of the rose family, plants used for rose hedging, botanical and miniature roses.

Flowering Shrubs & Ornamental Trees
Should be fed when the plant is obviously in active growth. The solution should be applied copiously and any that drains into the soil will do equal good.

Carnations & Chrysanthemums
Commence feeding three days after planting and continue until flower buds show colour. Feeding should be moderated during poor weather conditions, ie. when light intensity and temperature is low. Do not feed when plants are entering Winter dormancy, this applies especially to double border carnations and to perpetual flowering outdoor Chrysanthemums.

Plants From Bulbs, Corms, Rhizomes & Tubers (including lilies)
When new growth becomes evident, foliar spraying will prove especially beneficial. Nothing is to be gained after flowers show colour.

Herbaceous & Perennial Plants
Should be fed as soon as active growth becomes evident in early Spring. Feeding must be continued throughout the Summer in order to build up strong crowns, to flower in succeeding years.

All Plants Used For Ground Cover (including grass lawns)
Watering lawns will give an especially rich green appearance and has proved an excellent ‘pick me up’ for tired, starved and sick lawns. To keep that ‘bowling green’ look application every three weeks is all that is necessary.

Other Uses:

Propagation
Hard shelled seeds, ie. peas, beans, some shrub seeds, zonal pelargonium seeds and seeds with a tendency to be slow or erratic in germination, due to water repellent husk or seed coat, can be encouraged to produce more consistent results than usual if the seeds are soaked for twelve hours prior to sowing in a No.1 strength solution.

Cut Flowers
All cut flowers, provided the stems are cut freshly or in the case of woody stemmed flowers (ie. that is Chrysanthemums, Forsythia and Lilac) crush and bruise the first six inches of the stem can and will enjoy a longer life as cut flowers, if placed in clean water to which `Instant Life' has been added at the No.1 Strength. Water should be completely changed every three days.

Compost Making
Though products such as ‘Instant Life’ can significantly improve the growth rate of plants, nothing is better than good old fashioned compost for the long term improvement of tired soils with both nutrients and that all important humus. A No.2 solution of ‘Instant Life’ works as an excellent composting accelerator when added to vegetable waste, lawn clippings, leaves, flock, chicken feathers, in fact all matter of organic origin. Spread the ‘waste’ approximately 4" deep, water thoroughly with the solution, add another layer of ‘waste’ and cover liberally with chalk, another layer, repeat the solution and the process again and again. In the space of about four months you will have produced a fine rich compost to provide an ideal soil conditioner.

Method Of Application:

Though Instant Life can be used as a ‘drench’ directly to the soil or compost, the best results are obtained by use as a foliar feed. Simply spray the foliage of the plant(s) treated with the solution until all foliage is wet, ie spray until run off. This process can be undertaken approximately once a week during the growing season.
Do Not Apply In Bright Sunlight. Early Morning Or Late Evening Is Best
Of course feeding should only be undertaken during the active growing season. The most rapid effects occur when the day temperature is 60°f (15.5°C). or above. Do not feed when plants are dormant. Growth must be evident in order that full benefit will result from first and successive applications. Very sick and tired plants, as one would expect to find in old or exhausted soils will of course take longer to respond. Usually one’s patience is rewarded provided seasonal conditions correspond with the minimum recommended day temperature, i.e. 60°f (15.5°C).
