Nice, efficient Service!
Robert C, Bristol
Supplied as a packet of approximately 25 seeds.
Available from - DiscontinuedDespite being known under a multitude of 'Spinach' names - Malabar Spinach, Creeping Spinach, Climbing Spinach and Buffalo Spinach to name a few - this is not even related to Spinach!
We first grew this in 2000 and were so impressed with the quantity and quality of crop that could be produced from such a small area (as it grows vertically) that we decided to add it to our listings.
The rich green leaves resemble Spinach both in flavour and texture but are thicker and more fleshy, making it perfect not only for use as you would conventional Spinach but also for stir-fries and similar.
The habit of the plant is to climb and so support is essential; we usually grow plants to around 8 feet (2.4 metres) tall, though in optimum growing conditions and with suitable support it can grow to up to 30 feet (10 metres or more)!
