Your assistants are truly welcoming and extremely knowledgeable, and we have seen amazing results in the clarity of our pond water since purchasing some of the oxygenating plants we bought from you ie. crispa, water violet, water cress etc. Dave practically fell in the tank of crispa when we visited you and it has been a standing joke ever since. Description
We cannot recommend this pretty new strain of primrose enough!
Called the Rosebud Primula because the attractive flowers form the appearance of a bouquet of rosebuds - absolutely charming!
It's not unusual for the first few flowers thrown each year to be single but the rest will emerge full double - in almost a swirl of colour. We grow these from mixed seed so expect to see flower colours from blue to red to purple to yellow - and delicately scented too!
Flowering can start soon after Christmas and continue right through to May. It's not unusual to see the pretty flowers appear from melting snows - these really are tough!
- Flowers January-May.
- Thrives in full sun or partial shade and great for planting under trees and hedges.
- Prefers a rich moist soil.
- Plant 12" (30 cm) apart.
- Divide every three years or so.
- Will naturally self-seed.
