Description

Extremely heavy cropping tomato variety. Produces huge trusses of billiard ball sized fruits with a quality and uniformity that is difficult to match. The dense fruits have an excellent sweet flavour and are extremely juicy just what you would expect from a tomato that looks like a tomato should! We would only recommend protected growing for this variety.

Another benefit of 'Blizzard' is that, unlike most varieties of tomato, it is able to set fruit in poor light conditions making early and late Season cropping very possible, although it is also fine for Spring and Summer growing too!

Despite this variety not actually being that old (we first grew this in 2000) it was discontinued by the breeder a few years ago and so seed of this F1 Hybrid was no longer available. We have to say we don't quite know why it was discontinued as it had so much going for it and so decided to save seed and, by careful re-selection process (that is ongoing), produce a stable de-hybridisation with all the characteristics of the original.

  • This is an indeterminate variety and best grown as a cordon (vine).
  • For best yields stop at 5th truss.
  • Suitable for protected growing only.
