Our Feedback
Good morning, I have just received my first delivery from you (various vegetable plants) and wanted to say how pleased I am with the quality of the plants you sent me! The plants arrived on the day you said they would, carefully packed and in very good condition. They were larger than I was expecting which made planting them really easy. Thank you too for the helpful information about planting enclosed with each plant as well. I shall be recommending you to all my friends and family! Your website is very good too!

Description

This variety adds a new colour to salad and the salad bowl - it's bright golden yellow.

This fairly new introduction of tomato has found favour with both 'grower' and 'eater' alike - and deservedly so! Vigorous, reliable in habit and with good disease resistance, 'Sungold' always seems to manage to produce heavy crops - whether inside or out.

The fruits are probably just a little bit larger than a conventional supermarket cherry tomato and are bright golden-orange; their flavour is sublime and oh so juicy.Producing cascade trusses of thin skinned fruit. Very heavy cropping and early.

F1 Hybrids and those who produce them are often seen as the evil enemy (and for good reason in some cases!); but this variety really proves the benefits that can arise from hybridisation and, no doubt, the 'good' that Gregor Mendel (1822 - 1884) hoped for in his ground breaking works - yes, hybridisation and F1 Hybrids really do go that far back in time.

  • This is an indeterminate variety and best grown as a cordon (vine).
  • For best yields stop at 6th truss if growing under protection (4th outside).
  • Whilst the best crops will be grown under protection, this variety can also be grown outside.
