Description

These polyanthus are really tough and hardy. They are one of the first flowers in the spring, a welcome sight! After flowering is over can be transplanted to a shady spot in the garden to 'rest' before replanting for the next season.

These come to you in our special mixed colour selection to include cream and yellow shades, deep crimson, plum red, almost violet and pink.

What is so special about these, unlike modern polyanthus hybrids, is the lovely perfume when warm spring sunshine arrives - and attracts the first butterflies! Can be grown in pots as well as in the open ground.

Seven months of rain between September 2000 and April 2001 left these unscathed from flooding. A miraculous plant in every way.

Many folk experience difficulty raising polyanthus from seed and so this will take the pain out of growing this so worthwhile subject.

  • Hardy.
  • Flowers March to May.
  • Grows to approximately 12" (30 cm) high.
  • Thrives in partial shade or full sun.
  • Likes a deep rich soil.
  • Plant 12" (30 cm) apart.
  • Edible flowers.
