A hardy, evergreen heath, reaching 12" (30 cm) tall with stunning purplish pink flowers December to February. Great for ground cover, easy to grow.

Description

Winter Heath that has a low spreading shrub habit with narrow, needle-like leaves, mid to dark green in colour.

Racemes of urn-like flowers that open pink deepening to purplish pink, flowering from December to February (which is one of the earliest flowering of the heaths).

Makes stunning ground cover as it is low-growing with beautiful flowers.

Native to the European Alps.

Recognised to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects. Thought to be left alone by deer.

  • Reaches 6-12" (15-30 cm) tall.
  • Spread 18" (45 cm) wide.
  • Flowers December-February.
  • Likes a sunny position but will tolerate light shade.
  • Likes lime to acidic soil but not heavily compacted ground.
