  • Eating Pear.
  • Heavy cropping, producing greenish yellow fruits with a meltingly juicy flesh.
  • Self Sterile.
  • Quince A rootstock.

Supplied as a bare root tree pruned to approximately 3 - 4 feet (90 - 120 cm) tall including roots.

A popular and very well flavoured pear with sweet and meltingly juicy flesh. The greenish yellow skins sometimes develop a rosy flush or perhaps even russeting.

A reliable and heavy cropping variety that is extremely popular across Europe.

  • Season of use November - December.
  • First introduced 1849, France.
  • Self Sterile - requires a pollinator (another pear).
  • Grown on Quince A rootstock for an ultimate (un-pruned) height of 8 - 12 feet (2.4 - 3.65 metres) but can easily be kept at a height of 6 - 8 feet (1.8 - 2.4 metres).

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
