Our Feedback
Thank you very much for the wonderful gift of the rose Birthday Girl you sent today for my 90 year old cousin. She was thrilled with the gift and intrigued with all the packing but I said it must be a good Company to take such good care of her rose. Thank you.

We have specially blended four old established varieties to extend the cropping season from mid September until early April.

Cooked well and not boiled 'to death' Brussel Sprouts are a delicious vegetable with a sweet and nutty taste - and can be a firm favourite with children, who love the idea of them being 'baby cabbages'. Would Christmas be the same without Brussel Sprouts - if you make them home-grown sprouts the taste is even better!

Sprouts are also good for you! Rich in sinigrin (giving them their flavour), this has been proven to destroy pre-cancerous cells in the body.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects if allowed to 'go over' and flower (so if you have room leave any plants in that have gone too far rather than pulling them out straight away).

  • Set out 2 feet (60 cm) by 2 feet (60 cm) apart.
  • Harvest mid September - April.
  • Top Tips
  • Plant firmly, and in windy areas consider staking.
  • Protect from pigeons - pigeons love Brassicas (so do partridges)
  • Take precautions against the dreaded Cabbage White butterfly - inspect your crop regularly, spray with our BioFriend Plant Defence or use a physical barrier such as insect netting.
  • Harvest from the bottom of the plant upwards.
  • Sprouts harvested after frosts will have better flavour than those harvested before.
