Thank you for my first order from your company. My herbs look healthy, but a little battered, but that was probably due to Royal Mail (Bless them!) for not reading alternative delivery instructions, as the plants arrived a day late due to the fact that the parcel had to be taken back to the Royal Mail depot for me to make alternative delivery arrangements. Unfortunately, I can't plant my herb plants today, due to the fact that it's raining; so they're having a good drink to recover from their Royal Mail ordeal. I will definitely order from the Victoriana Nursery Gardens again :-)

Potato Tuber Pink Fir Apple

- Pink skinned long and knobbly potatoes have a waxy yellow flesh and rich flavour.
- Best for steaming/boiling, salads, roasting and chips.

Description
First introduced in 1850, Pink Fir Apple is a classic late salad variety that has maintained its popularity due to its fine flavour - the best of all in our opinion!
The red skinned tubers have light yellow flesh and are gorgeous hot or cold. The knobbly shape makes peeling nearly impossible, but don't let that put you off as the skin just adds to the flavour. For the ultimate in decadence make chips from individual tubers!
- Scab resistant.
- Chit tubers by placing 'eye face up' in egg boxes or shallow trays and standing in a warm light location.
- Once small green shoots (or chits) appear move to a cooler location for a few weeks before planting out.
- Best planted out April. Later plantings will be fine but yield may be smaller.
- Dig trenches approximately 5" (12 cm) deep and 2' 6" (75 cm) apart.
- Press tubers into the base of the trench 15" (38 cm) apart with chits facing up and cover with soil.
- Water in and keep the crop well watered in dry spells.
- When the haulm (top growth of the plants) reaches 9" (23 cm) earth up around the plants leaving just the top 4" (10 cm) showing - repeat again later if required.
- Potatoes should be ready for harvest approximately 16-20 weeks after planting.
