Our Feedback
Dear team, my Shirley Giant Onions are growing like mad - all my mates are asking how
I grow them so big.I told when I received them as plants I followed your instrutions and just sat back and watched them grow. So I gave them your email. Can't wait to taste them. Be in touch again.
R Bradley, hassocks west sussex
Supplied as a pot grown plant approximately 12" - 18" (30 - 45 cm) tall including pot.
This Product is Available Now.Very closely related to the Blueberry, they are native of North America and a lovely thing to grow!
Evergreen in habit, the Spring growth is tinged a ruddy bronze. Beautiful cream-coloured bell shaped flowers are followed by a profusion of the lovely black berries.
Ripening over a period of three weeks or more, the fruit is best left to fully ripen on the plant in order to achieve maximum flavour and juiciness! On the subject of juiciness, a word of caution - the purple black juice is very staining so any attempts at sneaky picking and eating in the garden will probably not go unnoticed anyway! Perfect for making juice (obviously), jams and syrups - or 'muddling' into a cake or muffin mix, or simply a bowl of ice cream.
